The Great Forest is the territory in which the Sÿenann elves live; they are its protectors and guardians, the only beings capable of crossing the portals of light that are distributed geographically throughout Lindwurm. These portals communicate with all the areas into which the forest is divided. This link that unites the Sÿenann with the Great Forest has its roots in the fall of the old elven empire of Gae Assail, when a large part of the elves of the Army of Radiance, winners of the civil war against the imperial forces, settled in this enchanted place.
The cause and defense of the Great Forest is above all other considerations. The Sÿenann troops are the deadliest and most powerful in all of Lindwurm and they are ready to strike down any foe that dares cross their path.Key points
Much like the Sÿenann themselves, The Great Forest can kill you in an instant. The most insignificant of insects to the brightest colored mushrooms can deliver a deadly poison that will end your life.
A Sÿena’s sinuous roots can ensnare you and throw you up a good distance into the air to drive you out of its territory. And the ivy can immobilize you against a stone or a log to become a food store for wild animals, in a place where every living thing is a potential killer who only wants to defend its home.
A grayish path marks the beginning of the Forest of Ashes, a part of Eadhar where the most terrible of misfortunes took place: the sickening and subsequent death of the Sÿena.
Not long ago, the trees in this area of the forest began to die, nobody knew why, until suddenly the disease stopped, just as suddenly as it had started. It has been called the Forest of Ashes ever since, and its inhabitants began to refer to themselves as the Ashen. Over time, the Ashen have become the most warlike and revolutionary of all the Sÿenann of the Great Forest. They have experienced first hand the unfair tradition that would force them into exile when the Sÿena they are in charge of dies, and they have flatly refused to uphold such tradition. No one is willing to leave the Forest. The Sÿenann like to refer to their militias as the Woodland Troops or the Hosts of the Forest, similar expressions that encompass all of them without referring to an independent institution or high leaders. Specific denominations are reserved for the different units in which they are distributed, determined by their abilities and the specialties that characterize them when battle comes.
But if all the Sÿenann have something in common when it comes to fighting, it is the speed of their reflexes, the stealth of their movements, and their ability to blend in with their environment to stalk their prey. Whether among the plants or the bushes, in caves or on cliffs, in holes or in quagmires, they can take advantage of any space.Discover the product line of your nation in Warcrow.
