The new Corvus Belli game will be released in 2024! But while that happens, we will be discovering more and more information about the game. For the moment this is what we have clear:
Warcrow is a fantasy board game for 2 players (1 vs 1). It is a totally new game. This means that it is unlike anything we have developed so far.
It is classified as a units game, something in between a skirmish game and a big battle game.
Fantasy
If you already know the dungeon crawler Warcrow Adventures, you should know that the story told in that game works as a prologue for this one. Warcrow is the continuation of the dungeon crawler narratively.
Therefore, the story is set in the fantasy universe of Lindwurm, a few years after the adventures of our group of protagonists.
In this world of troops and armies coexist orcs, elves, undead creatures, dwarves, and many more beings against which you will have to face.
Product line
The first product will be a two-player battle box. A box of 14 miniatures of Embersig's Hegemony against Northern Tribes. This is a starter product that contains enough to be able to play without having to purchase more products.
Warcrow gives rise to a new line of products to expand the collection and fight new battles.
How it works
The game has alternate activations. One of the most interesting things that our wargame brings is the activation tracker, which will not only help us to manage rounds and activations but also the effects of certain spells, scenario events, game turns... and much more!
Mechanically the position will be very important. Victory points are mainly obtained by controlling objectives, so the position on the battlefield, who is and who is not controlling an objective is going to be more important than just wiping everything out.
Like some of our games at Corvus Belli, our new fantasy game will feature so-called 'Switches'. Switches are effects that you can activate by spending symbols from your die roll and that gives you an advantage or a disadvantage to the enemy.
On the other hand, the making of army lists will be rich and varied. You will have to make important strategic decisions, since some characters can go alone or in units.
The games use 8-sided dice with symbols and a measurement system of its own, which brings a lot of fluidity in the battle so that players can focus purely on strategy.
Troops revealed
We have already revealed all the miniatures of the Warcrow starter box for Hegemony of Embersig. Among them is Dragoslav, the most popular hetman of the nation.
