September's new releases are now available in our online store and in your favorite local game store, and this month, apart from the WTS tournament pack, there's just one new release for Warcrow. But what a release it is. Feudom players, one of your most wanted miniatures is finally here: Roland Loussier and Whitetrail!
For many inhabitants of the continent, the existence of the Griffin Rider School of Assail is nothing more than a legend, although in Landry and Hawthorn Point it is stated that this school is located on the northwest face of the Aileé Mountains.
Roland Loussier grew up hearing that story and he dreamed of riding one of those creatures, even though his friends made fun of him for the sickly child he was. So, before being knighted by the Duke of Levanesse, his mother's cousin, he escaped and set off alone, determined to become a griffin rider. That journey changed his life. He went hungry when he ran out of provisions in the central territory of the island, devastated by the Crimson Tide. He had to flee from the priestesses who tried to welcome him into the monasteries of Alvinenn. He somehow slipped by the Mist Guard patrols, and he slept within a hair's breadth of the Fog which sent shivers up and down his spine.
Until one day, guided by his determination, he spotted the Griffin Rider School on a ledge of the mountain range. Despite there being no access by land, Roland was not deterred. He began to climb with his bare hands and his worn boots. But hungry and exhausted, with blood running down his knuckles, he fell into the void unconscious, after slipping on the sheer rock wall.
At that moment, a young griffin, white as the purest alabaster, caught him in the air, thus preventing him from falling to his death. Quick as a flash, it hoisted him up to the school's parade ground, where everyone supported the admission of this fearless boy and his wondrous mount whom he gave the name Whitetrail. What none of those watching then could have imagined was that, in a few short years, this boy would become the seasoned and fearless captain of the Mist Guard, and his griffin the fiercest and most terrifying beast that patrols the skies of Lindwurm.
Roland Loussier and his gryphon Whitetrail are an elite character that attacks with precision. With high mobility (MOV 4-2 with the ability to pass through terrain and enemies), durability (5 Wounds), and the ability to isolate and eliminate key units, their role is that of a priority target hunter who vanishes before the enemy can react.
Roland Loussier and Whitetrail are the perfect hunter for:
- Aggressive players who enjoy eliminating priority targets.
- Armies that need to neutralize a specific threat (commander, wizard, etc.).
- Constant pressure strategies and battlefield control.
Their unique value lies in their ability to isolate and eliminate any enemy unit, no matter where it is, and vanish before facing retaliation. Their unrestricted mobility and durability make them a nightmare for any army that relies on a key piece. They are a precision tool for players who understand the value of selective elimination.
