Lindwurm is a fantastic world where you can find spectacular natural landscapes, such as volcanoes, deserts, forests, and fjords, as well as rugged coasts and tranquil valleys to lay down and rest.
Comprising a large continent, a central archipelago, the northern and inhospitable Boreal Lands, and a small island cluster to the southeast, Lindwurm's biodiversity inspires awe in both natives and foreigners. You'll be amazed by endemic species like the dunklekor, olms, and skiljas, as well as legendary places such as the Giant's Boat, the Iron Crown, and the Oracle of the Sleeper. Yet this is but a glimpse of what you'll find in this fascinating world, where your curiosity and thirst for adventure will drive you to go even further beyond, despite the constant threat of the Fog.

Political Geography of Lindwurm
In the great continent of Lindwurm, you'll find the vast domains of the Hegemony of Embersig, the world's largest empire nation. But on its fertile eastern coast and cold northeastern shore, you'll also find a sizable portion of the many counties and duchies of Feudom, as well as the inners of the kingdom of Mounthaven, whose mines and cities chain together throughout the whole of Lindwurm's mountain ranges.
However, it's on the largely feudal island of Assail—the greatest landmass in the central archipelago—where you can visit the port city of Hawthorn Point, gaze upon Alvinenn's monasteries to behold the Crimson Tide, or venture forth into no man's land to discover some lost treasure of the ancient Elven Empire whose capital once stood here.
The orcs and varank, who make up the ferocious Northern Tribes, rule over the Boreal Lands and the coastal territory of Grjotgard, while the Merchants' Alliance holds its power over a thriving area bathed by the waters of the Golden Sea.
The Great Forest of the Sÿenann
But if there's a place in Lindwurm as marvelous as it is unexplored (for those who don't live in it, that is) it's the Great Forest of the Sÿenann. This forest is everywhere, bordering the domains of other nations. It does the land in areas of varying sizes, where nature still reigns in its own right. However, for the Sÿenann, this territory is but a single thing, as each and every area that comprises it is connected through the Light Gates, which only their druids and aoidoi can open.
The beauty of this harsh environment is such that should you have the opportunity to explore it, you shouldn't think twice about doing so, for the Great Forest also harbors unique natural corners and jaw-dropping Sÿenann buildings. The Blind Hole, the Hill of the Colossus, Laoidhean's gigantic Bridge of the Hands, and the clearing of Nemed, in the heart of Maevhan, are just some of them. It is in the latter that the Great Aoidoi gather each year for a fascinating ceremony in which they narrate the last night of Gae Assail, when the ancient Elven Empire fell, and the Sacrifice of Liberation took place.
Routes and Roads of Lindwurm
To explore all these parts of the world, you can traverse the lands of Lindwurm through numerous roads and trails, such as the Serpent's Path in the Baklhia Desert or the pilgrims' route known as the Path of the Stars. A significant portion of it runs along an ancient road that encircles the whole continent, where some of its gigantic arches still stand. Dwarves call it the Highway of the Colossi; the Sÿenann refer to it as the Path of the World.

But if there are communication routes that will be especially useful to you, those are Mounthaven's, the envy of all other nations. The dwarven realm, whose mining activities have forced them to rely on middle to long-distance cargo transport, has built a true network of surface communications throughout the continent, allowing you to move without hindrance. That is, as long as you don't run into rogue highwaymen, mercenaries, or troopers who still want to prove their skills after leaving some battlefield behind.
