Markers allow the Characters to interact and retrieve information from the scenario.
Throughout their adventures, they’ll come across four types of markers:
- Event markers
- Exploration markers
- Interaction markers
- Special markers
Event markers
When Characters explore a scenario, some effects will be triggered immediately (for example, at the beginning of a Round) while others will become active at a specific moment.
The latter corresponds to event markers, which are represented by their own Initiative token to indicate the moment in which they take effect.
When an event is generated, the App will spawn an icon on the screen to let us know in what Initiative Tracker position we’re supposed to place the event’s Initiative token.
Said Initiative token must be treated as if it was a Character or an Enemy Unit’s [Iniciativa]Initiative token.
When the time comes for its activation, the represented event will be triggered: we’ll remove the Initiative token from the track and we’ll tap on the corresponding icon on the screen to activate its effects.
Let's see an example:

The App informs us of an upcoming event during the turn or in the 9th position in the Initiative Track. We’ll place the Event Marker in position 9 as if it was an [Iniciativa]Initiative token.
When its turn comes, we’ll tap the icon on the upper right side of the App.

The App will ask us if we’re sure it’s the right time to activate the effects of the Event.
We’ll tap on “Yes” and we’ll follow the instructions.
Exploration marker

Exploration Markers represent locations or items that Characters can investigate.
All we need to do is to place ourselves on them and tap their icon in the App to activate their effects.
Among the most common effects are adding tiles to the scenario, searching for items, obtaining information, and… things that can happen when you leave home.
Interaction markers

These markers represent items or Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) with which you need to perform the [Acción]Interact action to obtain something from them.
We must therefore place ourselves in their space or on a space adjacent to them and be able to spend the necessary [Energía]Energy cubes to [Acción]Interact with them.
All we need to do in order to activate them is to tap their icon in the App to receive instructions on how to play the interaction out.
The interaction will often require that we pass one or more tests using some of our attributes.
Attribute tests
When the App asks us to pass an attribute test, we’ll roll the dice that correspond to said attribute and we’ll enter the resulting number of [Éxito] in the proper dialog box.
The App will then determine the degree of success or failure of the test.
We must bear in mind that if our Character is [Élite]Expert in that attribute, we can turn the [Éxito Hueco] into [Éxito]
In some cases, the App can let us perform an assisted test that consists of an attribute test in which one of our teammates helps us with the task at hand. To that end, they need to be in a space adjacent to us.
In that case, we can add one of our assistant’s dice of the same attribute to our Roll.
Important: Under no circumstance can we roll more than 3 dice of the same color.
Special markers
Some interaction markers are represented with their own icon because they have some special features.

Chests. Chests allow us to obtain one or more Consumable Item cards or ingredients (that we can use to make Consumable Items when we return to Hawthorn Point).

Closed doors. Closed doors block the passage between tiles. It’s essential that we [Acción]Interact with them in order to open them. As explained earlier, interactions may include passing an attribute test and come with different consequences depending on our level of success. We’ll often have to choose between brains or brawn.
